So you would think, after about the first 10 cars officials would call it quits and just shut the ole' interstate down...but no. They think up to 100 cars are being affected right now, in FREEZING temps, stuck on the interstate for HOURS. All I can think of is Mommas like me, possibly toting 2 babes in the back seat, on the way home, maybe no diaper bag - because who brings that to work & back - stuck on the interstate. And if they are really like me...an 1/8 of a tank of gas. Ha!
But seriously folks, shut down the interstate, hell the mall is closed. The whole town may as well be too.
Enjoy for your laughter. Living in the flat, frigid landscape of Fargo, is not always as glamorous as you may think.
Happy New Year!!!

Deal with the Devil...errr my Husband
So YEARS ago, I made a deal with my husband. It sounded like this.
"Honey, I need a new house, if we get a new house we can talk about getting you a hunting dog, AS LONG AS the house has a fenced in yard & kennel for the dog OUTSIDE."
So, we moved into our dream house on May 14th, 2010.
By Mid-June we had a swing set for the babies.
By Mid-July we had a fence.
I thought this was all great! Life was good.
By Late-July we had a dog kennel. Whoa we move fast, right?
By Late-August we HAVE A DOG. Holy s*it! Oh & did I mention that by Late-September we will have a new baby?
To have to explain why I have a constant headache and am getting cold sores would be pitiful. I think we all know where they are coming from.
So this 'Dog' is very cute. She is a puppy. Everyone loves a puppy! Her name is Kimber & she is 7 weeks old. During all this I am also in FULL BLOWN pre-baby nesting. FULL BLOWN. And there are dog toys, dog kennels/crates, dogs, dog hair (which I also requested a new steam vac & Dyson Pet Vac to take care - and my husband happily obliged).
Other than the stress of the timing of all this...she has been a great little pup. And isn't she cute?!

9 Weeks & Counting!
We are 9 weeks pre-new-baby! And can not wait! I am feeling great...except for I currently lost my ankles again today...if you see my ankles running around having fun w/out me, please steer them back in my direction! And perhaps explain to them.....KANKLES ARE NOT CUTE! My blood pressure has been great (LOW) this time around, so I am hoping this swelling isn't a pre-cursor to high blood pressure induced bed-rest! That was a very lame month of my life.
We have ultrasound #4 next week, which I am so thrilled about!!! We never got to see Olivia at this stage in my tummy! The docs have also been so hit & miss (probably due to all the ultrasound readings) w/ our due date - we are on #3 that it will be nice to get a better date from the measurements next week!
I have been busily getting my house ready/nesting/whatever you call it for baby! Which means SOON I will post some 'real' pics of our lives in our new home! Until recently it hasn't been 'our home' with 'our stuff'. But we are getting close!
Here are a few pics of our fun summer!

Bathtime fun! Jacuzzi's & Bubbles!

Fishing w/ Daddy...or eating snacks while Daddy fishes!

So thirsty!

Daddy Day of Fun
Corey decided to stay home today for a Friday Fun Day w/ Olivia!
I have been receiving the cutest email picture messages from him throughout the day bragging of the fun they are having without me! Couldn't be that much fun, because I am not there, right?

Corey set up her kiddie pool, getting ready to go for a dip!

Using a pacifier pretending she is a baby, while getting ready to go potty!

Morning cartoon time, this pic actually did make me jealous this morning, how comfy does she look? I would love a jammy day too!

Nursing Pick Me Up's
So as our due date is getting closer & closer...well 3 months away but hey, that's close...I am having a lot more 'questions' than I did the first time around. Strange, I know. I think it's because I know what to expect. OR I expect what I can expect will 'probably happen'....make sense?
My biggest question today is...To Breastfeed or Not to Breastfeed (that is the question, haha!)? I hated it the first time. Well, hate is a very strong word. I very much disliked it the first time. All this smog about 'convenience' and 'easy temperature controlled milk' and 'cheap'...well I don't agree. Here are my points....
- Saves You Money: I still had to buy the bottles for daycare. Because I nursed we had to try (& throw away) a million types of bottles, formulas & nipples to find the right combination with Olivia. Mind you the 'really cheap' (insert sarcasm font) milking machine I had to buy. I would say on a 'saves you money' scale we did not come out ahead on this.
- Convenience: I get it. I do. And really wish I wasn't so 'shy'. But for me there is nothing convenient about whipping my boobies out in public to feed my baby. However I do think it is very convenient to stay 100% clothed, shake up a bottle of formula & feed the baby by bottle. Once with Olivia I fed her in public, at lunch with my Grandma at a restaurant with no other patrons besides us. And I had my chest very well hid under a huge blanket. As a 2nd time Mommy I do think I can do better with this. Like utilize the corner table in the Target deli, instead of asking the clerks to watch my cart while I run out to the car to feed my child in the backseat & resume shopping in 45 mins. Or go to teh Sears wing of the Mall where minimal patrons roam. Yes I know. I can do better.....BUT......
- Temperature Control: Eh. I find it just as easy to warm milk in a glass cup for 13 seconds or however many my new microwave allows.
- *Low Odor Poopy: Got me on this. This was a bonus! Loved the fact her BM didn't stink!
So what I am saying is. Show me some love, I could really use some pick me ups. Some tips. Some tricks. Some, Trish you gotta do this agains. HELP!
I know I sound so selfish. I know the baby's needs should come before my own. I just am on a 'I hate breastfeeding kick' right now. So, can you sell me on it? Let's see you work some boobie loving magic on me!!
