Daddy Day of Fun

Corey decided to stay home today for a Friday Fun Day w/ Olivia!

I have been receiving the cutest email picture messages from him throughout the day bragging of the fun they are having without me! Couldn't be that much fun, because I am not there, right?

Corey set up her kiddie pool, getting ready to go for a dip!

Using a pacifier pretending she is a baby, while getting ready to go potty!

Morning cartoon time, this pic actually did make me jealous this morning, how comfy does she look? I would love a jammy day too!

Nursing Pick Me Up's

So as our due date is getting closer & closer...well 3 months away but hey, that's close...I am having a lot more 'questions' than I did the first time around. Strange, I know. I think it's because I know what to expect. OR I expect what I can expect will 'probably happen'....make sense?

My biggest question today is...To Breastfeed or Not to Breastfeed (that is the question, haha!)? I hated it the first time. Well, hate is a very strong word. I very much disliked it the first time. All this smog about 'convenience' and 'easy temperature controlled milk' and 'cheap'...well I don't agree. Here are my points....
  • Saves You Money: I still had to buy the bottles for daycare. Because I nursed we had to try (& throw away) a million types of bottles, formulas & nipples to find the right combination with Olivia. Mind you the 'really cheap' (insert sarcasm font) milking machine I had to buy. I would say on a 'saves you money' scale we did not come out ahead on this.
  • Convenience: I get it. I do. And really wish I wasn't so 'shy'. But for me there is nothing convenient about whipping my boobies out in public to feed my baby. However I do think it is very convenient to stay 100% clothed, shake up a bottle of formula & feed the baby by bottle. Once with Olivia I fed her in public, at lunch with my Grandma at a restaurant with no other patrons besides us. And I had my chest very well hid under a huge blanket. As a 2nd time Mommy I do think I can do better with this. Like utilize the corner table in the Target deli, instead of asking the clerks to watch my cart while I run out to the car to feed my child in the backseat & resume shopping in 45 mins. Or go to teh Sears wing of the Mall where minimal patrons roam. Yes I know. I can do better.....BUT......
  • Temperature Control: Eh. I find it just as easy to warm milk in a glass cup for 13 seconds or however many my new microwave allows.
  • *Low Odor Poopy: Got me on this. This was a bonus! Loved the fact her BM didn't stink!

So what I am saying is. Show me some love, I could really use some pick me ups. Some tips. Some tricks. Some, Trish you gotta do this agains. HELP!

I know I sound so selfish. I know the baby's needs should come before my own. I just am on a 'I hate breastfeeding kick' right now. So, can you sell me on it? Let's see you work some boobie loving magic on me!!

Potty Update

Wow! What a great couple of days Olivia has had potty training. Mark my words...this seems to easy. I think it is part (or totally) due to our awesome Daycare Momma.

Yesterday she was accident free! From waking up yesterday with a dry diaper (I am sticking to diapers at night for now!) to this morning when she woke up with a dry diaper! I am so impressed!

She did have a little naptime poopy accident, and a "Mommy Poopy" accident I couldn't throw her out of the bathtub fast enough accident. But for now, we are not counting poopy accidents. We are focusing on the 'Pee-Pee in the Potty!'!!!

Don't Potty on Snow White

Olivia is a total girls girl. She loves all things girlie. Baby dolls. Princesses. Crowns. High Heels. Makeup.

So we have been poking around with potty training. What's the hold up you say? I am just not ready. Ugh. I always frowned on Momma's that said this (sorry to my friends I judged - haha). I always thought "not ready for what? The savings you will go through each month? The losing of nasty diaper garbage's and stinky bottoms? Buck up Momma, it's time!".

Well I am just not ready. Diapers are SO EASY. There is no running to the bathroom. There is no wondering when she will pee on the floor. Just a nice, contained area that is easy to clean up!

So our daycare lady is bound & determined to have Baby O trained by the time Baby Boy Sorenson arrives this fall. And I guess I am on bored!

Yesterday they decided to throw her into big girl undies and just let 'er rip! And she didn't have 1 accident until 4pm! They put her in some snow white undies and said 'don't pee on the princess' and she didn't! At 4 when she did have her little accident she then requested a diaper. LOL

I did follow suit and put her back in undies at home. This time Minnie Mouse. And NO ACCIDENTS! WAY TO GO OLIVIA! So we are going to be a big girl undies at home, pull ups away from home kind of family from now on! I know, I greatly dislike pull ups but...did you know rubber undies are IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND in size 2T? And as soon as I find them, I will nix this Pull Up idea. I do have a Minneapolis trip planned for this weekend, so maybe Babies R Us will have something to offer!
